If you’ve been on a ski holiday before then you’ll know that carving the slopes is only one of the attractions. If you haven’t, you’re about to discover how much more is on offer on a Les Arcs ski holiday. Our resort is in one of the most beautiful ski areas in the world with breath-taking views, amazing restaurants and loads of fun activities for kids, both on and off the slopes. After hitting the slopes, there are plenty of ways to relax, be social and spend time with family and friends. Vallandry is only of our favourite places for après-ski activities and we want to show you why!
Vallandry is a popular choice for families because of the community feel of the smaller resort without lacking any of the activities for teenagers that larger resorts offer. Ski lessons are available for kids aged 3+ in the snow garden and there are kindergarten facilities for youngsters who don’t feel like getting their skis on. We recommend Tom Pouce Nursery who welcomes children aged between 1-6.
For older kids, inside activities like the cinema are always a hit on off-slope days. For the more adventurous, dog sledding, sleigh rides, toboggan run’s and paragliding sessions are all available in Vallandry and Les Arcs that will guarantee a holiday to remember.
Because of its size, Vallandry isn’t as famous for the kind of wild nights you may find in some of the bigger resorts but it’s still easy to find some lively venues for your après-ski adventures.
Soak up the village pub atmosphere in The Mont-Blanc. Unwind with a pint or a glass of vin chaud over a meal, with the chance to see live music on Wednesdays and dance to DJs or follow your favourite team with Sky Sports. If cocktails are your tipple of choice, look no further than Le Mojo Bar with a sparkling atmosphere that continues into the night.
If you're travelling with youngsters, there is a great selection of registered childminders who can look after the little ones while you let your hair down. Just ask us and we'll be happy to help you arrange this service!

The Blanche Murée serves delicious traditional food and with a great kid’s menu, it’s a great choice for families. If you’re looking for something a little classier for those special occasions, Aux Enfants Terrible is a gourmet restaurant. However, it also has a more casual café on the ground floor for a quick pick-me-up. Their sun terrace is hard to compete with and worth a visit.
The restaurant scene in Vallandry has one of the best reputations and has resulted in people travelling from all over to visit them. From local cuisines to casual dining, there is something for everyone here. We recommend La Bergerie de Raphaël for the authentic Savoyard experience. If you’re feeling tired from the day’s activities, gather by a crackling fireside at the Le Solan D'Aniathazze restaurant to warm your muscles and feed your stomach!
Alternatively come join us in our communal dining space for a homecooked meal, great conversation and games! Our half-board accommodation options mean you can keep your ski trips to a budget without compromising on delicious dinners.
Swap your skis for hiking boots and explore the sublime Vallandry views by foot on one of the many spectacular walking trails. Most of the main lifts offer pedestrian passes so you can enjoy a vin chaud on the hilltops. Fancy a more rugged hike? Activity companies like Evolution 2 offer guided off-track snowshoeing tours.
You don't have to buy the snowshoes, ice grippers and trekking poles you'll need on mountain walks. If you don't have the necessary kit for hiking, Evolution 2 offer kit for hire.

The shops in Vallandry have everything you need when it comes to kit, souvenirs and local grocery supplies. If you’re looking for some retail therapy, however, it’s a great excuse to visit some other towns like Bourg St Maurice. Two great small mountain malls are found in Les Arcs and La Plagne with a bigger shopping area in Albertville.
Most people think about downward travel when they think of ski resorts, but have you considered going upwards?
Rock climbing is a popular sport but ice climbing is even more thrilling. Pick up a harness, helmet and some axes for an alternative exercise and even better views to impress your friends. Ice climbing is guided by professional mountaineers to show you the ropes (or harness!), and you don’t need prior experience before booking. Get in touch with the Bureau des guides et accompagnateurs.
