If you’re undecided where you’re going to ski this season, check out the local Tourist Information websites. Serre Chevalier has a great virtual visit tool and Peisey-Vallandry’s website gives you details of local shops, services, activities and maps. In Tignes, our lodge is based in Les Brevieres, one of the more traditional resorts. Here’s a great ‘What’s On in Tignes’ guide to events this Winter. Not forgetting our Slovenian counterpart, Bovec… check out the Tourist Information Centre’s website here.
What's new? In Serre Chevalier, they’ve completed construction of a new chairlift between Villeneuve and Chantemerle. This will open out the ski area providing easier access between the slopes.
This year we’re sure our teams will be back out on their toboggans. Guests joined Dave and Christine last year and it was hilarious fun. Did you know that Serre Chevalier hosts its own Grand Prix each year? This season, the famous ‘Serre Chevalier Grand Prix de France’ will be back on Saturday 16th March 2019. Attracting over 800 participants, you race by skis or snowboard through Briançon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Monêtier. There are two fun courses; the 'Parcours des Dingues' for those wanting the full-on intense skiing experience, and the 'Parcours des Doux' full of blue and red runs for anyone over eight years old who are looking for a more relaxed - but still challenging! - skiing competition. For children there’s even a Mini Grand Prix held at the foot of the slopes in Monêtier-les-Bains. Next year we’re hoping to enter a team in the main event. Wish us luck!
Don’t forget that there’s a whole host of extra activities and events you can enjoy while you’re on one of our chalet ski holidays including sleigh rides, snow shoeing, local tours of the towns and landmarks, dog sledding and paragliding. However you choose to spend your Winter holiday, make it your best adventure yet.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all at Hucksters. We hope to see you again soon.
