Our one-day ski experience is back!

If you’re snowed under with work and can’t get away for a week’s skiing or even a long weekend, why not escape for a whirlwind one-day experience? Sounds bizarre, but it can be done. Squeeze in a day’s skiing on Saturday and be back home Sunday afternoon.

In an ideal world, a week’s worth of skiing or snowboarding would be perfect. But we know it isn’t always that easy to book some time away, not too mention save for your holiday. Luckily our packages for last minute budget ski holidays are magical experiences, so if you can book more time away check out our deals for Vallandry, Serre Chevalier, Tignes and Bovec. For those that can’t, we know that the pull of the snow is never far away and the need to get in some skiing will probably be on your mind. Every year we host a ‘mad’ mini weekend where we depart by coach Friday afternoon travelling via the Dover ferry overnight arriving in Les Arcs Saturday morning. Travelling can be hungry work so we’ll have breakfast ready for you, plus changing and showering facilities, at our chalet Petit Mont Blanc.

But before we tell you more, here’s some reasons why a one-day experience could be the best thing you’ve tried this season.

Save those pennies

This is arguably one of the best reasons. By the time you add in travel, accommodation, ski passes etc, your holiday starts to add up. A one-day experience gives you a day’s skiing, just enough of a taster, before hopping back on the coach home.

Easy travel

There’s no need to check in for flights, no baggage fees or flight delays. All you need to do is step aboard, sit back and watch the mountains come into view, or catch a few zzzzz’s before getting suited and booted. Our coach can pick you up from a variety of locations including Birmingham, London and Dover.

Quieter slopes and less queues

Most people arrive for a week long holiday on a Saturday (or are going home), so they are less likely to hit the snow until later on in the day, if not Sunday. Less people means fewer queues and more runs to yourself.

Doorstep skiing

Our chalet in Vallandry is literally next door to the Grizzly lift, so once you’ve freshened up you can get set and ski. Ski out and enjoy the resort’s 200km of slopes. There are 17 black runs, 43 red, 63 blue and 3 green tracks. Not to mention snow parks and boarder cross for the snowboarders.

Peisey Vallandry has everything you could need right in the town, from equipment hire and traditional Savoyard shops to restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. Perfect for a lunch time pit stop. Come as a group or just yourself. A one-day experience is perfect for anyone looking for a mini break away.

This year our special one day in-resort weekend by coach is back for January 2019. Depart Friday afternoon in the UK, travelling overnight to the Alps arriving in Vallandry on Saturday morning. Pedestrian/basic local ski pass and return coach travel, breakfast, afternoon tea, coffee and changing facilities are all included. The price of this one-day experience is £99 per person. If you’d like to upgrade to a full Les Arcs ski pass, it is an additional £15 pp, and ski and boot hire for the day is just £12 pp.

We will be running this one day budget ski holiday package on 4th-6th, 11th-13th and 18th-20th January 2019. To book your seat on the coach, email us at info@hucksterslodge.com.

The staff were more like friends than employees and knew the area very well. Can't fault them. They sorted an issue with my wife's ski pass with as little stress as was possible. To start your day of skiing one had only to walk about 20m from the door, pop your skis on and off you go. You could eit...

Always wear your helmet and be mindful of the position your skis are pointing when carrying them around to avoid accidentally hitting anyone.
