When it comes to booking your next holiday on the slopes you may have a few ‘must have’s’ that will make your Winter break the best yet. The location will probably top your list, followed by the quality of slopes, piste action and distance to lifts. Finding good accommodation where you can rest your weary legs after a full on day on the slopes is no doubt up there too.
We have lodges across the French Alps and in Bovec, Slovenia. Petit Mont Blanc lodge in Vallandry, Les Arcs, combines traditional chalet-style accommodation with alpine, ‘doorstep’ style skiing at altitudes of up to 2,300m. In Vallandry you have everything you could ever need within easy walking distance… Savoyard shops, equipment hire, great restaurants and you can literally see Le Grizzly lift from our lodge – it’s just metres away. The area of Les Arcs also connects to La Plagne resort via the Vanoise Express. Julie and her team will be on hand at our chalet to offer you a warm welcome and delicious home cooked food.
In Serre Chevalier, Dave and Christine run our chalet, Petit Sporting, in Villeneuve. The valley of Serre Chevalier has a rich history with plenty to explore. The main city, Briancon, is the highest in Europe, in fact! Petit Sporting is set just 400m from the nearest lift and offers a great diverse ski area for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. We love the warm, community atmosphere of the valley and its laidback, chic way of life.
If you’re looking for a destination unlike others with an extraordinary landscape, Bovec is the place. Set two hours from Venice (perhaps an excuse to indulge in some sightseeing too?), Bovec is the only ski resort in Slovenia to boast slopes above 2,000m. The opportunities to ski off-piste are practically endless and owing to its high altitude, the slopes are never icy, meaning plenty of powder days! Chris runs our Chalet Soca during half-term dates.
Both our Vallandry and Serre Chevalier locations offer half board accommodation in our chalets, as well as self-catered apartments (half board available as an optional extra). We have just released our 2018/19 season rates, so now is the perfect time to get booking, especially if you’re after half term, Christmas or New Year dates. The lifts are due to open from 15th December – we can’t wait to make the first trails of the season! Early season availability does get booked quickly (who wouldn’t want to test the new snow first?), so we’d recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
